League handbook

Play fair.
Play properly.

A clear match-night framework for captains, players and venues. The full handbook should be approved by the league committee before publication.

01

Eligibility

Players must be registered to one team before taking part in a league fixture. Transfers require committee approval.

02

Match format

Four players per team: two doubles best of 3, four singles best of 5, plus a separately recorded 1001 beer leg.

03

Scoring

All games are played double-in, double-out. A player must first hit a double to begin scoring and must finish on a double. The home team supplies the scorer.

04

Results

The winning captain submits the verified result by the league deadline. Both captains should retain a copy of the match sheet.

05

Conduct

Respect opponents, officials and venues. Abuse, deliberate disruption and unsafe behaviour may be referred to the committee.

06

Disputes

Captains should first try to resolve issues on match night. Formal disputes must be submitted to the committee in writing.

07

Order of play

Player names are drawn at random before the match to determine the order of play. Both captains must be present for the draw and agree the recorded order before the first game begins.
